Ciara Completes the Dublin City Half Marathon and raises over £5,000 for Clear Cell Sarcoma Research
Ciara Motherway completed the Dublin City Half Marathon on 3rd May and has raised over £5,000 to fund research into Clear Cell Sarcoma at the Cancer Institute, University College London.
Ciara’s middle son, Charlie, was diagnosed with Clear Cell Sarcoma two years ago at the age of 10.
Clear Cell Sarcoma is an ultra-rare and aggressive soft tissue cancer that mainly affects young adults. Currently, there are no effective medical treatments.
Charlie has undergone surgery to remove the cancer and is having two years of immunotherapy. Thankfully, he is doing really well. He continues to live life with a smile on his face and a positive outlook. He is currently NED (no evidence of disease), but there remains a high risk of a recurrence, this is why supporting this research is so important to us.
