For Clear Cell Sarcoma Patients:
Donate a Tissue Sample
If you have been diagnosed with Clear Cell Sarcoma you will have had a tissue sample taken of your tumour. By donating your sample to the Sarcoma Genomics Laboratory at University College London you will be providing data that can help find a cure for Clear Cell Sarcoma.
The tissue sample can tell scientists a lot about the disease and the more samples we have the greater our understanding will be as any variations in the genetic make-up of the disease can be identified.
The best type of tissue sample for research is fresh frozen (ff) with an accompanying blood sample from the patient. These can tell scientists the most about the disease and can be genomically sequenced for RNA and DNA and can be used to provide a comparison between cancerous and non-cancerous material.
Formalin fixed paraffin embedded (ffpe) Clear Cell Sarcoma tissue samples can also be of value.
How to donate a tissue sample:
Please contact the Foundation at info@edwardshowlerfoundation.com or telephone on 07740 871683 or alternatively Christie Davies at UCL at c.davies@ucl.ac.uk
Christie is undertaking a PhD in Clear Cell Sarcoma and is the Edward Showler Foundation bio bank co-ordinator and will liaise with your clinical team and co-ordinate the sample collection.
In order to make sense of the genomics of Clear Cell Sarcoma we need as many samples as possible so please donate your tissue as you can help increase our understanding of this disease and maybe find a cure or at least a more effective treatment.
