Chris Completes his 7th, 8th and 9th Half Marathons
Chris Wheatley has completed his seventh, eighth and ninth of the 12 half-marathons he is running in 2026 - one every month - to raise funds for Clear Cell Sarcoma research and to remember Sharni Ruming, who tragically died of Clear Cell Sarcoma in 2023 at the age of 30.
The seventh run was in Battersea Park, in London on the 18th July and Chris managed a time of 1 hour and 57 minutes.
The eighth run was the Sierre-Zinal race in Switzerland on 8th the August. Chris said
“This was the only non-half marathon (it was more). It was utterly brutal and I was not at all prepared. Mountains are not my thing! I’ll stick to flatter roads forever from now on!”
Sharnie would have loved putting Chris through this!
Chris’s ninth run was the Big Half in London on the 6th September, which Chris managed in 1 hour and 55 minutes.
A tremendous achievement and Chris has raised over £3,000, with Gift Aid, to fund research into Clear Cell Sarcoma.
