The first ever international Clear Cell Sarcoma Workshop was held at the Royal Society of Medicine in London on the 17th and 18th September. The meeting was hosted by UCL and the Edward Showler Foundation, who are supporting research into Clear Cell Sarcoma.

The first day of the Workshop was for patients and patient advocates to meet, exchange experiences and have an opportunity to shape the direction of future research into Clear Cell Sarcoma, which was a vital component informing the proceedings for the second day of the meeting.

The second day was a meeting of scientists, researchers and clinicians from the UK, Europe and the US, to discuss their findings and different approaches to future Clear Cell Sarcoma research.

Attendees were invited to give presentations on different aspects of the disease covering a range of themes from its biology, therapeutic discoveries and details of preclinical trials and models and translational research.

The meeting was held in an open, friendly and collaborative manner and ideas were generously shared and discussed.

As a result there were some exciting new targets for further research and some novel approaches that could bear fruit in the search for a cure for this terrible disease.

The next stage is to produce a Roadmap for future research and to allocate where this work will take place.

The attendees on both days were delighted by what had been achieved and welcomed this opportunity to share their experiences..
